Barbara/Ian, Not Again
“No, Ian, not
again
!” said Barbara. “I refuse.”
Ian glanced at her in the semi-darkness of the maze. “If you’ve got any better ideas, I’m listening.”
“Oh, well,” Barbara said, pulling a face at him. She removed her cardigan. “If I must.”
Ian set to work unravelling it, and then tied the end to a wooden support. “You can have my jacket.”
“That isn’t the point,” said Barbara. “I don’t see
you
doing any knitting – and what happens if I run out?”
“That’s hardly the end of the world.”
Barbara’s lips twitched. “At this rate, it very well might be!”
