I was wondering whether people had thoughts on whether Amy learned any of the lessons regarding tolerance, fairness and compassion that the Doctor tried to teach Ganger!Amy when he swapped places with his ganger during The Almost People? Presumably, she was aware of those lessons, since she thought she was on the TARDIS the entire time she was being held prisoner and, according to the Doctor, her heart, mind and soul were on the TARDIS during that time.

Drabble Tag!

Three weeks for Dreamwidth as snuck up upon us, so I thought it seemed an excellent excuse for a wee game of drabble tag.

For those new to this game, basically, someone leaves some prompts, someone else replies with a drabble (or comment fic of other size, given the character limit on dreamwidth comments, that can be a fairly large fic) and leaves up to three prompts for the next person, who in turn responds with their own drabbles/comment fic and leaves their own prompts. Your responses can be as long or as short as you like, I've always thought the point of them being drabbles is that its low stress, lots of people with limited time can take part and it gets lots of people talking and writing and sharing and its all rather fun.

You can write pairing fic or gen, but given the nature of the comm please keep the focus on the companions themselves. I've stuck a couple of prompts in the comments to kick things off, feel free to interpret them as you will. If you're struggling to come up with your own prompts to leave then...well the Doctor Who Random Pairing Generator may be of interest to you.

Also, in the spirit of the fest, please don't cross-post your fills outside dreamwidth until the three weeks are up.

Good afternoon! I wrote something some while back, but it seemed that it might fit in with the focus of this comm. So, having sought permission to repost, I bring a link to it. It's a Classic Who/Torchwood crossover, and it features Jack Harkness and Commander Lytton. It's not going to make any sense at all if you've never seen the Fifth Doctor story Resurrection of the Daleks and the Sixth Doctor story Attack of the Cybermen. At the time I wrote it, I thought it was G rated, but maybe it's PG-13 for a bleak, dark undertone that gets lifted in the main --- it does, honestly --- and some innuendo. Because Jack's involved, even a broken Jack, there is always a bit of innuendo.

So given that this comm sort of burst into life in a flurry of...well mostly podfic actually...at the turn of the year, and I've since persuaded doyle to pass me the mantle of 'looking after the comm' duties. I thought I'd better get round to making a post asking if the membership had any particular requirements or desires from the comm?

Would you like to keep the comm purely fanworks, or would you like to post meta/character arc discussion posts?

Would monthly character love posts be good? Either general free for alls with different threads for different characters, or focusing on one companion a month in chronological/alphabetical/completely arbitrary order?

Perhaps a game of drabble tag or comment fic?

The subtitle of the comm is 'companions and allies' obviously this includes the one off companions from the specials along with recurring folks like the Brig and Benton from the UNIT days and Jackie Tyler and Jake Simmons from the New Series. But what about non recurring characters? Only those who had a vital role in saving the day? Or anyone so long as they were on our heroes' side?

Something else I haven't thought of?
